Commercially bottled water carries a date for the bottle, not the water. Plastic gives up flavour into it over years, which is a taste question rather than a safety one.
How long it keeps
Unopened, this keeps indefinitely — which is what puts it on the long shelf.

FoodKeeper's own note: Water will store indefinitely, though the taste may be impacted by storage conditions, including sunlight, items stored around it and the containers being used to store it.
The table was not pulled from USDA — fsis.usda.gov answers 403 to non-browser clients from this machine — so it came from a mirror of the data.gov dataset and its vintage is unverified. Treat a single figure as indicative, not as a use-by date.
